Partner: Terre des Hommes
Country: Bangladesh
Start date: 01/01/2011
Project type: Vocational training
Project reach: 405 direct beneficiaries

In 2011, Terre des Hommes set up a technical vocational training center in Tangail, Bangladesh in cooperation with local partner Society for Social Service (SSS) to educate vulnerable young people.

In the first year of the project, the center was constructed and training equipment was acquired. Qualified personnel were hired and teaching modules were developed in cooperation with the local government.

The GSRD Foundation provides continuous support to this project. After setting up the school, courses started and provide education to students, providing them with the skills needed to set up their own business.

A Revolving Loan Fund will be set up as well, enabling young people per year to access vocational education when they otherwise would not be able to. This fund will be fueled for two thirds by Terre des Hommes, in conjunction with the GSRD Foundation, and for one third by SSS.
