In follow up of the empowering returned migrant women as entrepreneurs project, the GSRD Foundation has granted a follow up grant to The Asia Foundation to promote the entrepreneurship support model in therural of Chongqing, China. During implementation, The Asia Foundation observed that rural women entrepreneurs face more challenges compared to women entrepreneurs in urban areas. To address this, the women’s entrepreneurship support model will be adapted to meet the needs of women entrepreneurs in rural areas of Chongqing.

Drawing on the successes of previous projects, The Asia Foundation will continue to work with the Chongqing Society of Women Talents to promote its well-developed entrepreneurship support model for rural women entrepreneurs in the Dazu District of Chongqing. Both organizations will also support the local women’s federation to develop a gender-smart incubation services work process, advancing local gender equality and social inclusiveness.
