Women empowerment through skilling, enterprise creation and climate resilient agriculture

Partner: Hand in Hand India
Country: India
Start date: 01/03/2021
Project type: 3 years
Project reach: 3200

This project promotes the livelihoods of 3200 beneficiaries, providing sustainable support during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. It will also improve the quality of the agriculture though addressing soil fertility, water resource development and mitigating adverse effect of extreme climate conditions.

All the interventions and its Key Performance Indicators are a result of Hand in Hand’s needs assessment alongside solutions discussed with the villagers of the target villages. These solutions are based on Hand in Hand India experts’ experience in the subjects and their work in Gujarat.

Based on Hand in Hand India’s experience in Skill Training and Livelihood Creation, 60 to 70% of the trained women will be either employable or self-employed after the training. Women form Family Based Enterprises (FBEs) that will yield a small increase in income leading to better living conditions as well as supporting their family’s well-being.
