Redesigning crafts in Vietnam

Partner: Prins Claus Fonds
Country: Vietnam
Start date: 01/01/2017
Project type: Vocational & Life skills
Project reach: 2 direct beneficiaries

In 2015 the Prince Claus Fund and the GSRD Foundation collaborated in a call for proposals in Vietnam. This call for proposals was an open invitation to all organisations, foundations and individuals active in the field of crafts to submit a proposal and receive a combined grant from the Prince Claus Fund and the GSRD Foundation. The goal of this follow up project is to give structural financial support to two of the best performing projects supported by the previous call in 2015 and to enable these projects to generate sustainability through a larger outreach, further development of entrepreneurial skills and growth of their business.

The two selected projects are pioneering Vietnamese creative entrepreneurs and organisations who explore new ways for craft to use tradition as a springboard for innovation, to offer vocational training and provide sustainability for artisan practices and the local communities involved in handcrafts in the country.
